A Utility for reading and determining color codes and EIA numeric codes for resistors, capacitors, and inductors.
At the top of the window are color swatches for color codes.
At the bottom of the window are controls for component type, value, and EIA numeric code.
Mouse controls:
- Click the cycle buttons under the color swatches to change the color code.
- Click the cycle button underneath 'Type' to change the component type.
- Double-click the field underneath 'Value' to copy the value to the clipboard.
- Hold down Commodore while double-clicking to paste a value from the clipboard.
- Double-click the field underneath 'EIA' to copy the EIA numeric code to the clipboard.
- Hold down Commodore while double-clicking to paste an EIA numeric code from the clipboard.
Keyboard controls:
- Press + or - to increase or decrease the middle color/digit, with rollover.
- Hold Shift and press + or - to increase or decrease the first color/digit.
- Hold Commodore and press + or - to increase or decrease the last color/digit/exponent.
- Commodore+T changes the component type.
- Commodore+C copies the value to the clipboard.
- Commodore+Shift+C copies the EIA numeric code to the clipboard.
- Commodore+V pastes a value from the clipboard.
- Commodore+Shift+V pastes an EIA numeric code from the clipboard.
Pasted values may include up to 30 digits, full stop (.) or comma (,) for decimal separator, and the letters [afpnumkMGTPE] for prefixes and [FHO] for units. Significant figures will be truncated if there are more than two and the value must be within range for the component type.
