About READYChat for C64 OS
READYChat is a Utility for C64 OS that lets you send instant messages to other READYChat users and fetch useful information using Ready, your internet-powered personal assistant.
READYChat has over 25 commands across a range of categories and its vocabular can be expanded with its server-side plugin architecture. You can ask Ready for a weather forecast, get stock prices, read news headlines, look-up the definitions of words, and more. You can even get instant-answers from ChatGPT.
READYChat comes packaged with a number of extra goodies. A welcome file with command overview, a labeled screenshot document, 4 new backdrops for App Launcher, alert and alarm sound programs for BASIC, and a fun splash screen.

Minimum Requirements:
C64 OS v1.08 or greater.
A C64 OS internet connection.
An internet connection requires supported network hardware and a CNP account. Read the C64 OS Networking Guide for further information about getting online.
Installation
- Copy rdychat.v1.0.car to a directory using File Manager
- Double-click the rdychat.v1.0.car in File Manager
- Click the "Extract" button
After the extract is complete, you will have a new directory called READYChat v1.0. Inside this directory you'll find "READYChat" plus a number of bonuses. Copy "READYChat" to the system's "utilities" directory. Scratch the original .CAR file or move it to another directory for backup and safe-keeping.
Memory Constraints
There is insufficient memory to run READYChat concurrently with File Manager.
The recommended way to run READYChat is to add an alias to it on the desktop in App Launcher. However, it can also be launched from App Launcher, or from inside other Applications (if there is enough free memory), by choosing "Utilities" from the upper-left Utilities menu (or by pressing SHIFT+CONTROL+COMMODORE+U) and then opeing READYChat from the list.
