World Explorer is loosely inspired by early versions of EarthBrowser for classic Mac OS. It showed Earth as a globe which you could rotate. Then click on points around the world to open a live webcam.

In World Explorer for C64 OS you start with an overview of the Earth as a flat map. You can click any of 6 regions to zoom in on: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa or Australia. A list of cities, towns or locations appears in a drawer that you can slide in and out from the right side of the screen.

Click on the map to select the city at that location, or click the cities in the list to show where it is on the map with a cross hair. The country and the latitude and longitude are displayed at the bottom of the list.

Choose "Update Webcam" from the View menu and you're taken into full screen graphics mode where you are presented with a live feed from a webcam from the selected location. The name of the place is shown in big bold letters at the top left, and the local time is displayed in big bold characters at the bottom right. Frames are updated automatically every 30 seconds.

You can watch wildlife congregating at the drinking hole from the Tembe Elephant Park in South Africa, or checkout the beeches and boardwalks in Miami, or see folks coming and going from the pub in Dublin.
